Story

Hello and thank you for visiting our fundraising page!

Our group target is £5000 to raise for G4 ward in Southampton children's hospital in our Beautiful baby boy, Jaxon's, memory. Our first page expired so we have had to start this new one for the remaining time of our skydive fundraising. G4 have already gratefully received the donations from the previous link which, including gift aid was a massive £3488.25! Not far to go to reach our £5000 target!

They are the most incredible team of people and they saved Jaxon's life over and over again. They are in need of a full refurb and we have dedicated the rest of our lives to raise money in Jaxon's memory to help them do just that!

So on September 21st 2024 a group is going to be doing a skydive in Salisbury. Jamie (Jaxon's daddy) is so scared of heights but he will do anything for his family and we are so lucky to have him 😍 He Kick started the skydive idea and some of our amazing friends and family have decided they would love to support him too!

Skydivers:

Jamie - Jaxon's Daddy

Jason - Jaxon's Uncle

Holly - Jaxon's Auntie

Adrian - Jaxon's G-uncle

Louis - Jaxon's Godfather

Tommy - a fellow G4 parent and lifelong friend

Zara - a lifelong friend

Wills - Zara's fiancé, a lifelong friend

We are so grateful for everyone doing this in our boys memory and hope we can smash our target and raise these well needed funds for G4 Ward.

Jaxon was born 5 weeks premature at St Richards Hospital via a crash call, category 1 emergency C-section on the 13th of March. This was because my midwife at my appointment wasn't happy with his heart tracing

Jaxon was resuscitated at birth and then blue lighted straight to the Southampton Neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) where they were waiting for him. They stabilised him and then were able to diagnose Osophegeal Atrisia and Tracheal-Oesophageal Fistula. He underwent a massive operation to repair both of these at just 15 hours old. With me still in St Richards Hospital and my partner Jamie with our boy in Southampton we were being told all of the complications of the surgery yet without it our boy wouldn't survive the night. I got transferred to finish my treatment at the maternity ward in the Princess Anne hospital so I could be with my family (and that's another story for another day)

The operation was a success and then he had to be medically paralysed, sedated and put on a ventilator to give the Oesophagus and the Trachea time to heal a little bit. The days and weeks after were so hard but when the day arrived that we could FINALLY hold our son, none of it mattered because he was safe. Jaxon remained tube fed for a couple of weeks and the round the clock care the NICU provided was out of this world.

Sadly that's not the end of Jaxon's journey and he has needed a further 8 operations being cared for on G4 ward, further investigations where he was diagnosed with new conditions and had to be resuscitated far too many times to count. After his initial NICU stay he was looked after by the incredible G4 ward. Jaxon also sadly spent time in PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) and HDU (High Dependency Unit). But G4 have been there every step of the way for all 3 of us and they continue to support us after Jaxon heartbreakingly passed away at 6 months old.

Jamie and I owe our world to G4 and the surgical team at Southampton Hospital as they saved our little boys life so many times and helped us have 6 incredible months with our baby boy. The nurses are hero's and definitely deserve capes!
