Story
I am running the London Marathon for the third time in April 2024, and hope you will be able to support me in this challenge to raise some money for a very special cause.
As an Occupational Therapist I see the impact of spinal injuries all the time, and how this affects people and their families.
That's why I am thrilled to be raising money for a fantastic charity called Spinal Research.
I am hoping to raise at least £2,000 and any donation, however small, would be so much appreciated.
~ My running adventures ~
I have enjoyed trail running for the last 10 years, and every now and then will do a half or full road marathon.
The temptation to do London one more time is too great, as it is the most fantastic marathon in the world! It will mean even more to me this time as I will be running with my eldest son Harry.
I truly believe that anyone who has two legs and a pair of trainers can take up running - I'm not fast and have built up my strength slowly. I find it's a lovely way to spend my leisure time with my spaniel Jelly, and a way to relax mentally when I've had a busy week at work. I have loved getting my boys into running, and we continue to have so much fun together running at home and taking part in events.
~ About the charity ~
Spinal Research is the UK’s leading charity funding medical research around the world to develop effective treatments for paralysis caused by spinal cord injury. Every year 1,000 people in the UK and Ireland are paralysed following an injury to their spinal cord.
We receive no government funding and rely entirely on the support of the public to raise funds for our research. Because of the efforts of our supporters, we have funded innovative medical research that has achieved a number of ground breaking changes in the field.
