Story
In 2015 I lost my dad to MND. I have chosen to run this race in memory of dad and for all those that are currently suffering from this hideous disease.
The MND association provides hope, guidance and support to sufferers, their families and carers which is invaluable. They helped me during my dads last days when I desperately needed it for which I will be forever grateful.
Motor neurone disease (MND) is a progressive disease that attacks the motor neurones, or nerves, in the brain and spinal cord. This means messages gradually stop reaching muscles, which leads to weakness and wasting.
MND can affect how you walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe. However, not all symptoms necessarily happen to everyone and it is unlikely they will all develop at the same time, or in any specific order.
Any contribution you can make, no matter how small will be gratefully received. It will provide help to those suffering and investment into much needed research so that one day a cure will be found.
