Story
The CAP South East team are walking the whole Pilgrims’ Way (150 miles) from Winchester to Canterbury via Guildford during the month of October. This is to raise awareness on the amount of people living in poverty in our region and to raise fund for Christians Against Poverty.
Thea and Louise would like to make a difference and take part! They don't want to see any children unable to buy clothes or not having what they need!
On Friday 20th October 2023, they will focus on the 11th section of the Pilgrim's Way: Halling to Aylesford. They are organising the walk themselves (but their mums will walk behind - probably carrying their snacks!)
Around one in five people in the South East of England (20%) are currently living in poverty – that’s 1.9 million people*. Christians Against Poverty's free and professional debt advice, money coaching, job clubs and life skills has never been more needed. CAP works through local churches all over the South East region bringing hope and help to those in crisis, many of whom are in very vulnerable situations. As a team, we have seen first hand the increase of needs and of mental health issues over the last few years. It is not ok!
Your donation will enable us to provide essential services to those in need. Every penny counts and your support will make a real difference. Together, we can make a lasting impact on poverty by helping to create a brighter future for those who need it most.
Please help us reach our goal of £200 and join us in making a difference!
