Fundraising for Anthony Nolan
Amanda had been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia at the end of August last year, and received treatment from then onwards. A suitable donor was found for Amanda in America, but unfortunately she was too poorly for the transplant to go ahead.
Amanda was a bright light in the L&OD team and in NCHA as a whole. Amanda was an extremely caring and supportive colleague to many and the outpouring of beautiful comments clearly shows she meant so much to so many.
Amanda’s husband Darron and her family have asked that any donations at her celebration of life be donated to the Anthony Nolan Foundation.
Every day, Anthony Nolan saves the lives of people with a blood cancer or blood disorder. They do this by matching incredible individuals willing to donate their stem cells to people who desperately a lifesaving need transplant. They also carry out cutting edge scientific research, fund specialist post-transplant nurses and support patients and their families through the transplant process and beyond. They won’t stop until they save the lives of everyone who needs a stem cell transplant.
Every penny you donate brings us closer to that day.
Amandas colleagues believe it would be a fitting tribute to a beautiful colleague if we could support Anthony Nolan and the people with blood cancer they give hope and life to by raising money. We have therefore decided to take on the Anthony Nolan February Challenge of 2400 squats in February.
The current team of people taking part in the challenge is:
• Julie Mee (L&OD)
• Allison Whadcoat (L&OD)
• Lynda Campbell (Property services)
• Ripley Hinchliff (L&OD)
• Ella Coulthard (L&OD)
• Talia Baranoski (L&OD)
• Suzie Poyser (People)
• Spencer Welby (People)
• Nicki Kirkup (Communications and Engagement)
• Guy Stovold (Homes and Well-being)
• Andrew Ginns (Corporate Services)
• Kat Collins (Communications and Engagement)
• Ben Leeman (Transformation)
• Alpesh Mistry (L&OD)
We know that squatting isn’t for everyone and know there are many more people wanting to do their bit, so in addition to the squatting challenge we also have the following events arranged -
Bake sale – 8th February 2024 - Pelham House Refreshment Room & Camberley Court Unit B
Pub Crawl, in celebration of the final squats! – 1st March in Nottingham. Further details to follow.
If you could help either squatting, baking, buying or carrying a bucket pub to pub we would love you to join us, together we can really do Amanda proud.
* Charities pay a small fee for our service. Find out how much it is and what we do for it.
