Our fund facilitates a support group for patients who have suffered from TTP, a rare disorder of the blood coagulation system. We also support lab-based research at UCLH. We are a fund within UCLH Charity, the main charity for UCLH NHS FT.

Story

The TTP network was a real lifeline and source of information for us when Julie was diagnosed in January 2022 and Steve and the rest of the family could not visit the hospital due to Covid restrictions.

It was another 18 months before we even met anyone else who had got TTP and this was at an event organised by the network.

The problem with such a rare condition is that it doesn't attract much support as most people have never heard of it. So, to try and give back after the amazing life-saving treatment Julie received in January 2022 and the continued careful monitoring that has meant 2 1/2 years without a relapse we are joining the TTP network at the Bridgathon event on September 8th in London.

We (and Ted) will be walking through Central London, along the Thames and across several London bridges to raise funds and awareness.

We know there are lots of causes out there that are worthy of your support but if you can spare a few pounds for this one we would be very grateful!
