OLD ENOUGH TO KNOW BETTER BUT STILL DUMB ENOUGH TO GIVE IT A GO!
On May 17th - 18th 2025 I will undertake my Jurassic Coast Ultra Challenge to walk (not run) 100km in 2 days (yes, 2 days!).
Those who know me, know I am a middle aged woman (maybe a bit older than middle aged, so my daughter corrects me) with about as much athleticism as a cucumber. So why do it? For my sister.
For her, every day is a challenge, and there is currently nothing we can do to stop this disease. But hopefully by raising lots of money for the charity who is supporting her they can continue supporting all those who are suffering with MND and continue their research and make the break through to stop this disease in it's tracks. At the moment this disease holds all the cards. We can help change that.
Please give what you can, it all helps. And share this post if possible.
UPDATE:
My sister is now at peace, less than a year after her MND diagnosis. Her body was ravagged by this disease, stripping her of her motor skills and not leaving her without pain. But one thing this disease could not take was her spirit and mind. On 2nd September my sister passed but it was on her terms. On that day she saw her dearest friends, her mum, close family and when we were all gone, and she was with the ones whom she loved the most, her husband and children, she took her final breath.
For a moment after her death I did think what was the point of carrying on with this challenge. I always knew the fundraising was to help future suffers of this disease but it never dawned on me she would not be there to see me finish it.
Finish it I will and with your help I would like to raise a huge amount of money to help MNDa find a treatment and ultimately a cure for this unbelievably cruel disease. Any help you can offer, financial or just by spreading the word, would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
