Alder Hey Children's Charity takes on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks 2024

Story

On Saturday 4th May, I will be doing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks with my lovely friend Claire Moreton. This is a 12 hour, 24 mile round challenge, and I know this is going to push me past my limits! Fitness, stamina and mindset is key to getting me through this and I have 3 months to train.

My beautiful grandson Wallace has just turned 2 years old and he is our own little miracle. He came into the world with complex rare health conditions. As you can imagine the worry of what his future would hold for him was hard to take in and still is unknown.

From day one of Wallace being born, the consultants and the teams at Alderhey Children's Hospital have been nothing but AMAZING every step of the way. His journey is a long one but the continuous support of Alderhey has been second to none.

He makes me the proudest Nanny, having been through 8 operations so far, every time he is in recovery he reaches out and gives you the biggest snuggle and smile as if to say "I'm ok"

So my reason for doing the 3 peaks is an easy one. If Wallace can go through what he has and still continues to SMILE then 12 hours and 24 miles of walking is the least Nanny can do !!

Thank you for taking the time to read though my story, every £1 raised goes towards supporting this fantastic children's hospital.
