In March 2025 I had my stomach removed due to a very rare condition called Ménétrier's Disease.

I have had wonderful care from the Upper GI team at the BRI for over 7 years and am very lucky to have made such a good recovery from the surgery. I have never been a runner in the past but the local parkrun has been a great help in my recovery and I'm now looking forward to taking on the Bath Half. Adequate nutrition and hydration are an extra challenge for me but I'm learning as I go and I'm never found without a supply of snacks!
