Story

I can't wait to walk!

Starting 1 March I will be out there rain or shine walking towards my goal of 100 miles in the month. I would be thrilled if you would play a part by sponsoring me.

The vital funds that I can raise will help support the fabulous Surrey Hills International Music Festival and all its charitable work, from putting on world class concerts each May to providing professional music teaching in local state Primary Schools , performance platforms for gifted music grads and producing the Surrey Hills Young Composer Competition.

We have exciting plans for the future too offering unique opportunities to children and families, introducing the magic of live performance to the next generation.

I have been Festival Chairman of this Surrey gem for 15 years and this is the first time that we have launched a challenge like this so I do hope you will give generously to insure it is a success`

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

About the charity

As an organisation promoting the arts and culture, the Festival is a registered charity, but our charitable activity goes beyond just the presentation of world-class concerts. Through the support of the Festival Friends, we have supported the local String Scheme for local state primary pupils, enabling dozens of Year-4 pupils to receive weekly group instruction on loaned violins and cellos. This fantastic scheme (set up by Royal Grammar School Guildford) plugs the curriculum gap, giving local school children vital exposure to music and music-making. In addition, the festival creates invaluable performance opportunities for young and emerging artists as they work towards establishing sustainable careers.
