Hundreds of immigrants graduate from the Boston Public Schools each year, but many face a huge obstacle: if they’re undocumented, they don’t qualify for federal financial aid. Since its inception in 2017, the Unafraid Scholarship has awarded $340,000 to 135 deserving BPS graduates. They dream of becoming the next generation of nurses, teachers, lawyers, and engineers and your donations have helped transform their dreams into reality.
School’s out for the summer, and this year’s applicants are still looking for ways to finance their higher education. With a gap of more than $300,000, our 40 students still have a ways to go. They have worked hard to get to this point, and need your help to continue their education.
