October 3, 2023 marks 10 years since Crystal was taken away from us far too soon, at the young age of 19. Looking back at us then, we really thought we were adults…but truly we were just kids with so much life and potential ahead of us, especially Crystal.

When Crystal walked into my life (aka Sobeys) at the age of 17, I knew immediately we were going to become very close friends. Crystal had both a lightheartedness and depth to her that everybody wants in a friend. She could make anyone laugh, she was down to solve any problem, and she was a shoulder to cry on if you needed her.

From our hilarious nights at Outlaws, to our trips to the mountains, to us thinking a plastic container was an appropriate place to store bacon grease?? (That didn’t end well) she always lit up my day. I’ll never forget when she got the job at Sobeys and I had to train her on how to do the magazine aisle and told her to never put out horse magazines because we didn’t want to encourage horse girl behavior and she immediately obliged and no one ever knew what we were up to 😂

I can’t sing enough praise to Joana and Britney for starting #BieberForCrystal as witnessing Justin Bieber with her in her hospital room was a core memory of mine that I will literally never forget.

Gone, but never forgotten. You are now our angel. I will never understand why things had to end the way they did, and a piece of all of our hearts will forever be missing.

I am raising money for the next month for the Teenage Cancer Trust. I do realize it is a UK charity but this is a global issue. Every day, seven young people aged 13-24 hear the words “you have cancer”. They will each need specialised nursing care and support to get them through it. They are the only UK charity dedicated to meeting this vital need – so no young person faces cancer alone.

Please help me raise money in memory of one of my best friends. ♥️
