Story
In just a few days, I’ll be running the London Marathon — my 9th marathon, and the first in nearly a decade.
Each marathon has been a personal and intense journey. Hours of running, emotion, and reflection. It’s almost meditative — a way to process life, test my limits, and reconnect with myself.
This one, though, comes at a very special moment. I’m closing out my 40s — a decade that changed me in every way.
Right before my last marathon in my early 40s, I came out as gay to my family and friends. It was one of the most intense, emotional, and freeing experiences of my life. What I found was overwhelming love and care — something I’ll never forget. It felt like I’d dropped a heavy backpack I didn’t even realise I’d been carrying.
Life has blessed me in many ways since then. I married my incredible husband, and together we welcomed our wonderful son three years ago. And now, in just a few days, our family will grow even more as we welcome our daughter - fulfilling my lifelong dream of creating a family of my own. I’m endlessly grateful to our amazing surrogate — an angel in every sense. Without her, none of this would be possible.
Professionally, my 40s have been just as rich. From working as COO and CTO of a quant hedge fund, to five years in investment banking at Bank of America leading Equity-Linked products in Europe — and now, leading and co-founding Shuttle.
Through all these chapters, one organisation has been close to my heart, CRIS Cancer Foundation. They fund critical research into rare and hard-to-treat cancers — including childhood cancer. I’ve supported CRIS for over 15 years, and I’ll be running this marathon in their name. If you’re able to contribute, your support would mean the world— you can donate here
So yes — my 40s have been full of intensity, beauty, and growth.
And I can’t wait to see what the 50s bring. As someone told me recently: “The 50s is when the magic happens.”
Here’s to the next marathon — in every sense of the word. 🏃♂️🎉👨👩👧👦
