We deliver beds to children that live in poverty.

Story

Staff at JT Atkinson Builders Merchant have come together to tackle a hike around the Lake District, on 3rd and 4th June 2023, over a marathon distance of 26.2 miles to raise money to enable a Zarach hub to be set up in Teesside so we can eradicate child bed poverty in the North East of England.

Many thousands of children are going to sleep hungry and cold without a proper bed of their own.

Bed poverty is a real problem that has a significant effect on a child’s education. By providing something to eat and a good night’s sleep, we hope to give every child an equal chance to learn and succeed at school.

You can help us help children living in poverty in our region.Together, we can meet their basic needs, give them a good night’s sleep and an equal opportunity at school.

If we don’t act now, these children will remain cold, hungry and tired. We can make a difference. It costs £150 to provide a bed bundle for a child which includes a brand-new Bed, Mattress, Duvet, Pillow, Bed Sheets, Pyjamas and Hygiene Kit.

We're looking to raise enough money through our fundraising efforts throughout the year that means no child has to go without a bed to sleep in, in the areas where we live and work.

Thanks,

JT Atkinson
