As I turn 90 next month, I have decided to take on a big challenge to help others. I love my family and friends, and the local Chorleywood community, and I know how supportive they can be.

I have decided to try to walk 100 KM in the month of October (over 3 KM per day) to raise funds for a wonderful charity, Cure Parkinson’s (UK registered charity number 1111816). This is a cause close to my heart, as a dear friend of my family, Tom Isaacs, founded the charity. He passed away in 2017. His best friend, being my lovely son William Cook, then gave up his job and career in order to serve as its CEO for the last seven years. William and I, and 16 other members of our family (!), have decided to take on this 100 KM challenge to raise funds for the charity.

Cure Parkinson’s is a wonderful charity. It is dedicated to stopping and reversing this awful condition. The charity is organised and driven by an energetic, creative, efficient and lovely group of people, including my son! The charity has grown an awful lot in recent years, and now raises nearly £10 million per year for its causes. Every single pound matters, and that is why I want to help them out.
