Story
Hi friends!!
On March 8, I am participating in the Y’s “Workout Wednesday” which directly supports the 2023 Annual Campaign. For one hour, I will be running on a treadmill to raise support for the campaign. All of the money raised will stay right in our community and directly support the youth and families that we serve.
The Y has a special place in my heart. When we were stationed in Arizona, we joined the Y out there as well. In Arizona, John deployed for 6 months shortly after Emma was born and the Y was my saving grace. The childcare workers treated my children as if they were their grandchildren and me as their own daughter. Whether I needed a hug, laugh, or someone to trust with my kids as I worked out the stress of playing solo parent, I counted on them during those 6 months to keep my mind and body healthy.
Now in IL, I have met even more amazing members and staff that have become some of my biggest motivators and, more importantly, friends!
Back to Workout Wednesday! I would love your support in this effort to raise funds for community members who can't afford a gym membership or can't afford to enroll their children in activities, sports, and summer camps. My goal is to raise $500 and then once I reach my goal I can hop off the treadmill...or maybe I'll stay on because you guys know I'm a little obsessed with running!!
Thank you for your support of the 2023 Annual Campaign and the work that the Y is doing! THANK YOU Thank you for your donation! Because of your generous support, a child will learn how to swim, a mom or dad will be able to take a break and blow off some steam while his or her children play in childwatch, a teen will have a safe place to go, someone battling cancer can join the LiveStrong class and so much more! YOU GUYS ROCK!!
