Derek Sibly died peacefully at Teesside Hospice on Friday 24 May after a long illness.

On Saturday 20 July, in Derek’s honour and to raise money for Teesside Hospice, his family will be walking 82 kilometres in 24hrs to celebrate Derek’s 82 years. Their walk will take them from Teesside Hospice to Meath Street, his childhood home, and then onto Yarm where he lived and worked for many years. It will continue into Stokesley and Great Ayton via the Cleveland hills, overlooking the area where he brought up his family. The walk will conclude at Teesside Hospice shop in Great Ayton.

Derek’s family will be forever grateful for the kind, compassionate and extraordinary care that all of the staff at Teesside Hospice gave to Derek and his family.
