Josie McFall - Help Me Give the Gift of Hair for Christmas! Little Princess Trust

Sponsored Hair Cut · 6 December 2024
******Update: Wow! Within just 24 hours of sharing the link on social media, we’ve already hit my target! Originally, the plan was to go shoulder-length, but this has sparked the question: how much would it take for me to shave my head? So here’s the new plan: for every £1,000 raised, I’ll take another inch off. If we reach £5,000, it’s all coming off! Let’s keep this momentum going—let’s do this!******
If you see me riding my bike, you’ll probably recognize me right away thanks to my long, flowing plait. It’s a part of my identity when I’m out cycling—streaming out behind me from under my helmet. But, if you only see me off the bike, you probably don’t even realize how long my hair is because it’s always tucked away in a bun.
This Christmas, at the Hope Technology work party on the 6th December. I’ve decided to make a big change: I’m going to cut off around 12-14 inches of my plait. I’ll be losing a part of my identity, but I’m hoping to help someone else gain theirs in the process.
I’m donating my hair to the Little Princess Trust, an incredible charity that provides real-hair wigs to children and young people who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment or conditions like alopecia. These wigs are given free of charge, but making them isn’t cheap—it costs around £700 to produce a single wig.
That’s where I need your help! I don’t want to do this halfway, so I’m aiming to raise enough money to cover the full cost of one wig, making sure a child receives a complete, high-quality wig made from real hair.
Please help me reach my goal by donating whatever you can. Every little bit brings us closer to providing a child with the gift of hair—and confidence—for Christmas.
Thank you for your generosity and support!
