Story
After getting a place in the elusive London Marathon ballot (on the first time entering!), I'm combining this huge personal challenge with my passion for periods to raise money for an incredible organisation: Bloody Good Period.
No one should be at a disadvantage just because they menstruate yet period products aren’t free and accessible in the UK so many people can’t afford or access them. Although menstruation is a natural, biological process it is shrouded in stigma and shame and this has significant consequences for people who menstruate. Research from the UK indicates that 1 in 5 people cannot afford period products, 89% of people are stressed about menstruating at work and 13% have missed school, college or university because of their period.
Bloody Good Period provides period products to those who can’t afford them and reproductive health education to those less likely to access it, including asylum seekers and refugees. They also work hard to normalise the language around menstruation to help tackle the taboo. With the cost of living in the UK and conflicts across the world, demand for their services is greater than ever before. By donating today you’re helping to ensure everyone has a bloody good period. Thank you!
