Story
Every week, 125 lives are lost to suicide in the UK. Last year in England alone, 5,656 people tragically took their own lives. This number is not just a statistic—it represents individuals, families, and untold heartbreak.
In 2025, I will be running 5,656 kilometers—one for every life lost. That’s an average of 15.5 kilometers (just under 10miles) a day, every day, for a year. It’s not just a challenge; it’s a statement of solidarity and a call to action.
I’m raising funds for CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably), a suicide prevention charity that works tirelessly to support those in crisis. They offer life-saving services, spark crucial conversations, and fight stigma around mental health.
This journey is about more than running—it’s about remembering those we’ve lost, supporting those still struggling, and ensuring that no one feels they have to face their darkest moments alone.
Your support can help CALM continue to:
• Operate their helpline and webchat, available to anyone who needs it.
• Deliver community outreach programs to break the silence around suicide.
• Fund vital campaigns that challenge stigma and offer hope.
Please join me in making every kilometer count. Together, we can stand against suicide and bring hope to those who need it most.
Every step I take, every pound you donate, brings us closer to a world where no one has to suffer in silence.
Thank you for your support,
Josh.
