Story
Hackney Night Shelter provides emergency accommodation for 26 people who would otherwise be sleeping on the streets. Staying at Hackney Night Shelter means a safe space to sleep, hot meals, and the support needed to move on to longer term accommodation for over 150 people every year.
I got to visit Hackney Night Shelter recently, formerly a roving shelter moving between churches they now have a year round shelter in converted council offices, providing beds for 26 guests at a time, many needing emergency accommodation to stay off the streets.
As rent prices increase and salaries don’t, homelessness will unfortunately become more and more of a problem. The work of Hackney Night Shelter is therefore invaluable.
Please spare what you can and if you’re free come cheer me and countless others on, on May 18th.
