On 11th October, on behalf of Airdri, I'll be taking part in the Jail & Bail event in support of Helen & Douglas House.

I'll be part of a team of 9 'guilty' supporters that will be locked up in the historic Oxford Castle & Prison until I can reach my bail of £999 for Helen & Douglas House.

My crime? Well, as some of you know, I dedicate a lot of my time to going to gym and eating pretty healthily, a hobby and lifestyle that I really enjoy, although it seems many in the office felt it was a crime worthy of sending me to jail for the day - probably so they can polish off a bag of doughnuts guilt free for a day!

Helen & Douglas House helps local families cope with the challenges of looking after a terminally ill baby or child who will die prematurely.

It is a homely place for local children, living with life-limiting and terminal conditions, and their families, providing care in a warm, loving environment. The hospice is filled with laughter, whilst also being peaceful place where families can create happy memories in their last days, weeks, months or years together.

Helen & Douglas House is a local charity which needs to raise £3.4m each year to care for local terminally ill children and 83% of that comes from public support.

Any contribution you can make will be greatly appreciated - both in terms of supporting such a worthy charity, and in helping me escape the cell block before it's too late! :-)
