I'm running the 2025 Paris Marathon!!
After many, many years of running, I decided to run my first marathon. Not only do I want to prove to myself that I can run 26.2 miles (seems far ...), but I want to do it in support of a larger cause. Seriously. But also, because I have never run a marathon, I had no qualifying time ... so I feel fortunate that I was able to join a charity team: Alzheimer's Research UK!
Alzheimer’s Disease is one of the most difficult diseases faced by individuals, families and their communities. And Karina has devoted her professional life to supporting people with this disease and their caregivers.
So that's why I'm running for Alzheimer's Research UK, the UK’s leading dementia research charity. And with your support, we will raise funds to support research on this debilitating disease to inform prevention, management of patients with dementia, new treatment development, and to support families and caregivers for patients with dementia.
Thank you for supporting me as I run 26.2 miles through the streets of Paris - no doubt sipping wine, nibbling at cheese, and eating crêpes or baguettes along the way - to improve the lives of patients with Alzheimer's Disease! -Joe
