Story
Running the London Marathon has always been a goal of mine, and this year, I was lucky enough to secure a place through the ballot. While crossing the finish line will be an incredible personal achievement, I want my marathon journey to mean more. That’s why I’ve chosen to raise money for Parkinson’s UK, in honor of my grandad, who is heavily affected by this disease.
Parkinson’s is a progressive neurological condition that impacts movement and can have a profound effect on quality of life. Over time, I’ve seen my grandad’s strength and resilience as he faces the daily challenges that come with Parkinson’s. His journey has been both inspiring and heart-wrenching, and it has motivated me to take action.
Running for Parkinson’s UK is my way of honoring my grandad’s fight and supporting the incredible work this charity does to help families like ours. Every mile I run will be a tribute to his strength and to the many others who are affected by Parkinson’s.
This marathon is not just about running; it’s about running for a future where Parkinson’s is better understood, where treatments are more effective, and where hope is within reach for everyone affected by this disease.
Join me in supporting Parkinson’s UK, and together, we can help provide the resources, research, and support that will make a real difference in the lives of those living with Parkinson’s.
