Story
My Dads has recently been diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia.
I love my Dad. He has always provided and supported me fiercely. He is my hero and my protector.
I really wasnt ready for this table to turn.
I don't think anyone would.
One in two of us will be affected by dementia in our lifetime. Either by caring for someone with the condition, developing it ourselves, or both.
I quote Emma Willis when she says ‘Frontotemporal dementia doesn't give you many options. It can suck all the air out of the room’
I’ve felt pretty powerless since my Dads diagnosis and I need to do something. I can't physically stop the disorder (God knows I wish I could) but what I can do is raise funds for specialist nurses known as Admiral Nurses, to provide life-changing advice and support, to anyone affected by dementia, whenever it is needed.
In June 2024 I will be taking on the Three Peak Challenge for Dementia UK. I will climb the 3 highest mountains in the UK. Ben Nevis, Snowdonia and Skegfel pike…In 36 hours!
I need to raise £800 10 weeks before the climb, if you can support me for this amazing cause I would be HUGELY grateful.
This ones for you my dad and any other person who is living with FTD!
