On my way to Soria!

A challenge of driving over 1000km in a 1925 Ford Model T from Leamington Spa (Warwickshire) to La Riba de Escalote, a small village in the province of Soria (Castilla y León).

Driving along local roads in century-old vehicles at a recommended speed of 30-40km/h. For this adventure, I'll be accompanied by 5 other cars, also from England.

The Adventure will take place in mid-June, passing through the following towns and cities:

UK: Leamington Spa - Gaydon - Banbury - Brackley - Buckingham - Winslow - North Marston - Oxford - Portsmouth (Ferry)

Spain: Bilbao - Torre Loizaga - Avellaneda - Villarcayo – Valdenoceda - Puente Arenas – Oña – Frias -Burgos - Lerma - Aranda de Duero - Burgo de Osma - Berlanga de Duero - Caltojar - La Riba de Escalote

This challenge is in memory of my father, Ignacio Oliva Contreras, who passed away on May 12, 2024, due to complications from COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) and subsequent lung cancer.

Why drive a Model T Ford from England to Soria?

My father instilled in me a passion for automobiles and classic cars. Thanks to this, and my desire to undertake automotive projects, in 2007 I made the difficult decision to move to another country and pursue my dream, knowing that I shared it with my father as well.

My father was from a small village in Soria, La Riba de Escalote, and his life had always revolved around cars.

We had often daydreamed about how wonderful and endearing it would be to drive along the roads of Soria in a vintage car, and that's why I want to dedicate this challenge to him and the whole family.

In 2019, I finished restoring a 1925 Ford Model T in England, but unfortunately, my father never got to see it in person due to his inability to travel to the UK because of his fragile health.

So, here we go, Dad! We're going for a spin in the "Maserati" (as you used to call it, hehe) along the village roads, just like so many times before! I love you!

(Let's hope the car cooperates during our adventure and stroll through town without any breakdown, hehe).
