Story

Hi all,

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On 18th June I will be taking on the challenge of playing 72 holes of Golf in 1 day. This is equivalent to 4 full rounds of golf.

I will be raising money for the Chesterton House Foundation which was established last year by members of the Chesterton House Group, whom I work for.

The Foundation's objective is to look to provide support in the form of grants to individuals and organisations for the benefit of our local community, specifically Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

You can find out more about the Foundation and the grants that have been made so far here: https://www.chestertonhouse.co.uk/foundation

Being someone who has lived, studied and worked my entire life across the three counties, I believe that giving back to my local community is highly important and the Chesterton House Foundation allows us to do this. Any donations would be much appreciated!

The challenge itself consists of me playing 4 full rounds of golf at Oakmere Park Golf Club in Nottinghamshire. I will be carrying my golf bag for all 4 rounds (rather than using a golf trolley) and the minimum distance that I will be walking is 25,000 yards which equates to 22.9km. This does not take into account the inclines of the golf course and any additional distance to find my golf ball so I am expecting to be covering a lot more distance. Fortunately, I will have company from friends, clients and guests who will be playing a round or two with me throughout the day.

I will be teeing off for my first round at 4.15am!! With my last round at 5pm so will due to finish at around 9/9.30pm.

To make sure that I am not just rushing round to complete the challenge and that I maintain my golfing levels, I will be implementing a fines list for myself:

For every hole that I get a:

- Bogey - 50p donation to the Foundation

- Double Bogey - £1 donation to the Foundation

- Triple Bogey or more - £1.50 donation to the Foundation
