Running for Mental Health: Our Journey with the London Landmarks Half Marathon 2025
Each year, one in four of us will experience a mental health problem. This statistic represents not just a number, but real people—our friends, family, colleagues, and perhaps even ourselves. Yet, despite the prevalence of mental health issues, hundreds of thousands still struggle in silence.
This is why we have decided to run the London Landmarks Half Marathon in 2025 in support of Mind, a remarkable charity that believes no one should have to face a mental health problem alone. Mind is there to listen, to provide support and advice, and to fight for those who can't fight for themselves.
Our Running Journey
Drew - I've always loved running, but only at much smaller distances. The furthest I've run to date is 5k, so I am super excited to set myself the challenge of running a half marathon, which is a distance of 21.09 km. This personal milestone not only represents a significant physical challenge for me but also symbolises the journey many people go through when overcoming mental health challenges—one step at a time, with determination and support.
Demi - I’ve never been a fan of running—actually, I’ve avoided it for most of my life. But this year, I decided to challenge myself by signing up for a half marathon to support a cause that means a lot to me. This journey is way outside my comfort zone, and starting from scratch hasn’t been easy. Every run feels like a new hurdle —I’m just here to finish the race and make a difference for a great cause.
Jordan - I’ve always loved running from when I was younger until now and for years have run for different causes to raise money including Cancer Research and Maggie’s. This year I am running for Mind, a charity that supports all people with the challenges they’re facing with their mental health, and cannot wait to complete my longest run to date to raise funds to keep this amazing cause going.
