Toms big JOGLE for Alzheimer's Society

Hiking from John o Groats to Lands End · 29 March 2025
On the 29th March I will be setting out on my solo hike from John O Groats to Lands End . It is a hike of just under 1200 miles, mostly along national trails, which weather and legs permitting I am hoping to complete in around 10 weeks. I’ve enjoyed hiking since I was young, but at 54 this is the toughest hike that I will ever face.
The reason I’m doing it is to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society.
For over 20 years I have worked with the elderly installing and maintaining mobility equipment, and increasingly often witness the struggles people have living with dementia. It is now predicted 1 in 3 people will develop some kind of dementia, so if your lucky to avoid it, it’s likely someone your close to won’t, as is the case with someone very close to me.
Alzheimer’s Society is a fantastic charity offering help and hope to people living with this dreadful disease, as well as investing in groundbreaking research.
So if you can, any donation for my hike to help this charity would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Tom.
