Story
Hello. You know who I am, you'll have heard me banging on about my 50 things to do before I turn 51.
At the time, I thought a skydive was a good idea. However, I'm now bricking it.
That said, there is good reason for my complete and utter madness - there always is. That reason is the C-word. Yes, that's it, Cancer. Which can easily be described as 'the other C word'.
Everyone knows someone who has been effected by this horrible disease.
So many people near and dear to me have been/still are blighted by it.
Hopefully, in my own daft little grey haired, slightly balding and getting rounder by the day way, if I raise a few quid it will help the sterling work undertaken daily by Macmillan Cancer Support.
Even better is my 'mates', Paul, Paul, Nick, Ste and Rich paid for my skydive in Durham on July 7, very generously splashing out for the platinum package so I can really, really, really enjoy some added fear from 15,000ft - the UK's highest UK skydive. Great, cheers lads.
What that means is, if you are generous enough to sponsor me, all the money goes to Macmillan, rather than helping to pay for my jump.
As most of you know, I now work for Clarity Business Travel (the premier travel management company in the UK, thanks for asking) and its chosen charity is Macmillan Cancer Support.
So whatever money rolls in, I'll add it to that pot, which has already topped a whopping £70,000.
* Thanks for supporting my fundraising. Macmillan gives people with cancer everything they’ve got. If you’re diagnosed, your worries are Macmillan’s worries. Macmillan’s doing whatever it takes. But without your help, Macmillan can’t support everyone who needs them.
