This year’s challenge involves the group hiking over the three highest peaks in England plus some others for good measure. The route covers Scafell Pike #1, Scafell #2 and Helvellyn #3, bagging Ill Crag #4, Broad Crag, #5 and Skiddaw #6 to round things off. We are estimating it will take us around 13-14 hours’ hard slog and will ascend 8900ft in total. This is an additional 3700ft ascent on last year’s Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge.
The PTA raises much needed funds to enhance the pupils’ school experience. This year’s funds will go towards creating a new library and other nurturing activities at the school.
