Story

The BSSH LION Hand Unit (in Lilongwe, Malawi) was successively launched on the 1st February 2023, which requires the continuous presence of a Consultant Hand Surgeon, a Surgical Trainee and a Hand Therapist at the LION Hospital for 5 years to treat the injured hands of patients including children in Malawi.

The project is doing very well in its second year operating on more than 560 patients and training local surgeons and therapists in the management of hand injuries.
