Story
Joe & Tom's grandad, Stewart, was diagnosed with myeloma several years ago. After some serious ups and downs fighting the disease, he was offered a Stem Cell transplant at Newcastle's Freeman Hospital. He took the opportunity (despite technically being too old) and after a long boring recovery (where he was immuno-compromised so had to stay isolated), he is now doing really well and back doing the things he loves - including playing competitive tennis in his mid 70s.
Stewart benefitted hugely from the research conducted into his condition, in just the few short years between diagnosis and treatment. Joe & Tom are hoping to help fund that ongoing research by undertaking the 3 peaks challenge - climbing the tallest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales in 1 day (I get the easy bit, doing the driving between Ben Nevis, Scafell and Snowdon). We hope you can spare some change to help them achieve their fundraising goal.
