Story
My Dad is the strongest and most positive person I know. He's currently battling multiple cancers. Despite everything he's facing, his resilience and upbeat spirit have never wavered. He's touched so many lives through his passion for teaching and football. Whether on the field coaching aspiring players or in the classroom inspiring students, he's always gone above and beyond. Everyone who knows him knows what kind of man he is—kind-hearted, dedicated, and always ready to lend a helping hand.
Experiencing cancer up close has given our family a whole new perspective on life. We as a family wanted to do something meaningful to support others going through similar struggles. That's why I've decided to take on a big challenge in his honour.
When I started this challenge, my original plan was to tackle the HYROX Glasgow men's individual event on March 15, 2025. I've never done an individual HYROX before—only a mixed doubles with my wife Grace in Dublin last November—which was tough but incredible.
**UPDATE**
Now thanks to your generosity, our initial target of £400 has been smashed, and we’ve already raised over £4,100.
This has inspired us to push ourselves even further. My wife is competing in her individual HYROX event on Friday, and on Saturday morning I’ll complete my individual challenge. Following that, my wife and I will team up for a mixed doubles HYROX challenge.
I have to admit—this challenge is going to be incredibly tough, pushing us to our limits—but we are determined to give it our all.
With this extra challenge, we’re now aiming to surpass the £5,000 mark.
HYROX is a global fitness race that combines running with functional workouts. It's 8 km of running broken up with 8 different workouts.
Taking on this challenge is a bit daunting, but my dad's strength inspires me to push myself. While the NHS is taking care of his treatment, we want to support Macmillan Cancer Support, an amazing charity that helps people affected by cancer every day. There are currently 3 million people living with cancer in the UK today. It's Macmillan's goal to be there for everyone from the moment of diagnosis, but they can't do this without donations from people like you.
Your support would not only help Macmillan continue their vital work but also honour my dad's incredible spirit.
Thank you so much for being part of this journey with us. Every donation, no matter how small, makes a difference.
Thank you!
