Story

We've done it! Thanks to plenty of gels, Haribo sweets and the incredible crowds Jess and I have completed the 2024 London Marathon to help Meningitis Research Foundation achieve their goal of a world free from meningitis and septicemia.

Many thanks to everyone who has supported, encouraged and donated so generously to this valuable cause.

Jess and I couldn't have done it without you and we know that every pound donated goes a little way towards preventing the pain and heartache that this disease can cause.

Meningitis is a cruel disease that can strike without warning. It affects mainly healthy children and can be fatal within 24 hours. Its symptoms are difficult to spot and it can often be mistaken for much milder illnesses.

Our friends suffered this unimaginable heartbreak when their daughter Caitlyn contracted this disease whilst at university and tragically died a few days later, despite being vaccinated.

The more funds we can raise to expand access to existing vaccines and to invest in new research to detect and treat the causes the fewer families will have to endure the anguish of losing a loved one.

Meningitis is deadly; killing and seriously disabling in hours. Small children and young adults are high risk, but all ages can be affected. Globally 1,000 people die daily. We fundraise to invest in research, campaign for vaccines, provide symptom information and support those already affected.
