Everest in the Alps 2025 · 1 March 2025 to 8 March 2025 ·

The Everest In The Alps 2025 Challenge is raising funds for The Brain Tumour Charity. Our team will take on the epic challenge to ascend 8,848 metres (the height of Everest) on skis.

Story

Not knowingly able to sit still and not quite having the retirement I planned, I wanted to catch your eye about what I have been up to since my Brain Tumour diagnosis in March.

Throughout surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy I have been so well looked after but the plain fact is that at the moment there is no cure, although it is well within reach with more research into exciting new treatments coming on stream.

With this in mind and having climbed the Matterhorn twelve years ago to raise money for Breast Cancer Research, I am endeavouring to skin up and ski down the equivalent height of Everest in the Swiss Alps over four days with a mixed ability group of friends and family, ranging from 24 to 61, to raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity, which is the world’s leading brain tumour charity.

Not having skinned before and with one dodgy knee I am in the throws of trying to get fit again, alongside receiving cancer treatment.

I would so appreciate your support in donating whatever you can. It would mean the world to me to try and get closer for future generations to be able to cure this terrible disease.
