1 in 17 people in the UK are living with a rare condition. Help us to ensure that patients and families living with rare conditions have equitable access to high quality services, treatment and support.

Story

On the 6th of October, Laura, Julie and John will participate in the Great Scottish Run 2024 to raise funds and awareness for Genetic Alliance UK. Genetic Alliance UK raise awareness of all rare conditions across the UK, pushing for lasting change that improves the lives of everyone affected by a rare condition.

Our family has been deeply impacted by a rare condition, and 1 out of every 17 people will be affected at some point in their lifetime. The average patient receives THREE misdiagnoses, consults with FIVE doctors and waits FOUR years before receiving a diagnosis.

Genetic Alliance UK work with their membership organisations and senior decision makers across the UK to ensure rare conditions can be diagnosed faster and care for people living with rare conditions is better coordinated.
