A challenging 35 or 45 mile trek across Dartmoor raising money to enable all students at South Dartmoor Community College to participate in expeditions such as the Ten Tors event and Duke of Edinburgh expeditions.

Story

We are both taking on the challenge of doing the Ten Tors Trek on boggy, wet and beautiful Dartmoor! Sue will be doing a 35 mile route and John the 45 mile this time round.

We've been out training in all weathers and will be carrying out the overnight challenge at the end of May, come rain or shine! Just like our daughters doing the actual Ten Tors event, we'll be carrying all our own kit, navigating across the hills between given checkpoints and hopping over rivers like moorland lambs (or not).

Please sponsor us to make all the mud, bogs and rain worthwhile!

The aim of the trek is to raise funds so that every student is able join in with Ten Tors and other outdoor activities, with money not being a barrier.

Previous treks have raised invaluable funds that have been used to purchase new equipment like tents and trackers and to facilitate participation in outdoor education activities by a wider group of students from all backgrounds at South Dartmoor College.
