Story
My name is John Salmond and I'm and Advanced Paramedic for the Scottish Ambulance Service and I work in the Tayside area. I feel privileged to add that I had a three-year secondment as an Aircrew Paramedic with Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) Helimed 76 from 2016 - 2019 and I'm currently on their reservist list.
During my secondment term, SCAA afforded me the opportunity to develop both on a professional and personal level which I’m extremely grateful to them for, and my eyes were opened to the sheer expense of operating an Air Ambulance Service.
I turned 50 at the start of 2023 and with SCAA also reaching its tenth year in service this year, my elder brother George (Dod) set us a challenge for charity to benefit SCAA, given both milestones.
Our challenge. To cycle from SCAA base in Scone to London, 515 miles approximately 90 - 110 miles a day for five days 😲..........Cheers for that Dod!!
We thank you very much in advance for any support you can give.
