Story
I am running the London half marathon in order to raise money for Marie Curie and in memory of my much loved Father, Paddy and sister-in-law Lisa, who both sadly died of cancer.
My Father was 76 when he died 5 years ago and Lisa lost a long battle with cancer in September 2024, she was only 52.
We as a family were greatly assisted by Marie Curie who offered must needed respite and help in caring at night for both my Father and Lisa. That respite allowed us as a family to take a breath, rest for an evening and build up our strength to continue to care for both Lisa and my Father. Round the clock care was needed for both Lisa and my Father in their final weeks which was taxing. Marie Curie was a lifeline for us as a family.
Marie Curie is here for anyone with an illness they’re likely to die from, and those close to them. Whatever the illness, wherever you are, we’re with you to the end. We bring 75 years of experience and leading research to the care we give you at home, in our hospices and over the phone. And we push for a better end of life for all by campaigning and sharing research to change the system.
Marie Curie is a charity working across the UK and we need your support to do our vital work.
