Story
I am running the 2025 London Marathon in memory of my childhood best friend, Kyle Bremner, who very suddenly passed away aged 14 from a rare type of Meningitis.
Kyle was an inspirational person who spread positivity and kindness everywhere he went. We all miss him very much and want to continue to keep his memory alive. Before Kyle passed away he was very committed to raising money for charities close to his heart including Maggies and The Beatson. These charities helped his mum, Jen, who very sadly passed away the year before Kyle in 2016. He was hugely motivated towards raising money for these charities. His commitment to want to help others in need is a huge testament to his bravery and just sums up his character, especially when he was going through an extremely tough time himself after losing his Mum.
Losing Kyle was a massive shock to everyone who knew him and it was hard for us all to come to terms with his passing, as he was just a healthy 14 year old boy.
This marathon will be a challenge for me! I LOVE the pub and beer and I know that this will be something that will test me mentally and physically. Not only am I currently unfit but I have also never ran anything close to a marathon before. It's going to be a hard and emotional journey for me but knowing who is looking down on me I'm sure I will smash it! Any donations would be a massive help and will not only motivate me but will be going towards a great cause, to help people like Kyle.
Cheers, John :)
