Welcome to "Team 001 - "The Grumpy Old Veteran"

John (aka The Grumpy Old Veteran) will be taking on the 2023 Veterans Banger Rally from North Wales to Gibraltar and back in September 2023.

With my son having to drop out due to personal reasons, I was left with a dilemma;

A. Carry out the rally on my own (not very good for health and safety reasons)

or

B. Try to recruit some idiots to travel with me!!

Well on that note, I placed a plea on social media and I am pleased to say that two gentlemen stepped forward to take on the challenge.

The three of us had never met before, however have quickly realised that we have a passion of helping others and also a health obsession for cars!

We will be raising funds for The Blind Veterans UK charity.

We will be travelling in the luxury of a 19 year old Citroen C2 1.1 petrol. (Ideal power for going up and over the Pyrenees Mountains - NOT)

Once i hit Gibraltar, we will simply scrap the car and fly home.

As I am not only taking part in the rally, but am also the rally organiser overall, I, along with several other teams will be featured in two episodes of the award winning TV show, “Bargain Loving Brits in the Sun”

The show will be filming for 3 days with us from Benidorm to Gibraltar

***** I have been set a CHALLENGE *****

That I would get a tattoo of the shows logo whilst in Benidorm!!!!!

IF (and it’s a BIG “IF”) We reach our target of £1000+ on here, I WILL agree to getting it done!

Gawd only know what my wife will say!!!!!

I’m guessing I’m safe because as I type this message we are 2%towards our target!!!! So I’m safe from the needle!!
