We met and married whilst we were students at Loughborough University. Di was the first in her family to go to university. Her Grandmother’s income consisted of state pension and supplementary benefit, so Di could only go to university because she got a full grant.

We have been able to support out sons through university and want those opportunities to be available to students who do not have that support.

For many years Di and John have donated to the Loughborough Fund which supports students from low income families

(just like Di was).

In 2023-23 Gifts to the Loughborough Fund helped to provide more than 200 students from low household incomes with a bursary and supported eight care leavers with tuition fee waivers
