Story

Please support us as we Trek to the Arctic Circle! Some of you will know our fearless leader John Illingworth has swam in Antarctica, climbed Kilimanjaro , and spent many years in the Mountain Rescue. Continuing on the at theme John found "The Arctic Frontier Challenge - Beyond Boundaries for Childhood Cancer". Pitched as something fun to start the New Year joining John will be Will Cliff (Head of Elite Sports at Franklyn) and Cliff Kirby (CEO of NeedleSmart and CAL International) .

The Challenge Ahead:

Starting from Rovaniemi, Finland, our three-day trek into the Arctic Circle promises to push us to our limits. Battling the elements, each of us will pull our heavy kit through below-freezing temperatures, and spend nights under the stars in tents. The 40-mile route will undoubtedly test every ounce of mental and physical endurance! Concerned the challenge may not be tough enough the trio will be doing this in the middle of winter (January 2025).

The Reason Why:

The challenge to raise vital funds for The Joshua Tree, a charity which supports families affected by childhood cancers. When you see the work that the Joshua Tree do you cannot be anything but impressed! Their bespoke programmes of support extend to all family members and are available to families at every stage of a cancer diagnosis and beyond.

They goal is to improve the mental and emotional wellbeing of individuals as they navigate through the traumatic journey of a cancer diagnosis. And once the bell has been hopefully rung, The Joshua Tree continues to support families as they come to terms with the new normal and support lifelong wellbeing.

We would love you to join in this journey by donating to support the cause. Together we can make a tremendous impact.
