In June 2025, we have challenged ourselves to take on the Lake District Mighty Hike to help raise money for people living with cancer.

I myself have had cancer, but was lucky enough to be successfully treated. Thankfully so have other members of my familiy and friends. However, like so many others, I have lost family members to cancer and through my job as a nurse for patients with leukaemia I see the devastating effect cancer has on both the patients and all those around them who love them.

I want to do this walk to help raise money for the Macmillan charity to help them to continue to support those affected by cancer.

We’d be so grateful if you could help us reach our £500 pledge, which can pay for a Macmillan Nurse for two days. This could provide people living with cancer and their families essential medical, practical and emotional support.

I know it's not possible to support every charity, but if you can support John and I in our challenge, we would really appreciate it. Every little really will help.
