Story
Tim Shield & Jonathan Pupius from John Gaunt & Partners have been training hard in a bid to prepare for riding around 240km across the beautiful countryside of the Yorkshire Wolds in aid of two great charities that support the people within the hospitality sector.
We’ll be joining 50 riders from across hospitality to take part in the 'Pedalling 2 Pubs UK Edition 2023' challenge to raise awareness and money for these two great charities, 'The Licensed Trade Charity' and 'Only a Pavement Away',
The Licensed Trade Charity provides support to people working or retired from the licensed trade. The charity offers a range of services, including emotional support, financial assistance, and housing assistance.
Having been founded in 1793, it is one of the oldest charities in the UK. The charity offers a confidential helpline, which is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The helpline is staffed by trained counsellors who can provide emotional support and practical advice.
It also offers a range of financial assistance services. These services include grants for emergency expenses, loans, and debt advice. The charity also offers housing assistance services, such as help with finding accommodation and paying for rent.
Only a Pavement Away is a charity that helps people facing or experiencing homelessness to find jobs within the hospitality, pub and restaurant industry. They believe that everyone deserves a chance to succeed, regardless of their circumstances.
Only A Pavement Away provides a range of services to help people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. They offer training and support to help people find jobs, and they also provide housing and other support services. Only A Pavement Away has helped hundreds of people who are homeless to find jobs and rebuild their lives. The charity is a valuable resource for people who are homeless and for the hospitality industry.
Both Tim and Jon are daunted by the task ahead of them – 3 days cycling in a row! But this is nothing compared to what the people that these two valuable charities have to go through. We are hoping to raise as much money as we can so that they can continue to support members of the hospitality trade.
We are proud to support these two excellent charities and their causes and would be most grateful for any support you feel you are able to give.
