As a result of my FoI request and follow up discussions with Health Care professionals and Carer organisations, I have discovered that it can take a very long time for someone "living with dementia" and there Carer to get all the financial and practical support they are entitled to. Alzheimer's Society supports research that: seeks to understand the causes so that people can manage their risk, creates medication to manage symptoms and provides advice to help those living with dementia and their carers, to live well for as long as possible
