Story
Dear Supporters,
I am John Davies, the COO of COMPASS-Ghana.
Over the last 3 years we have been on a journey to deliver palliative care in Ghana. I want to personally thank you for all your donations so far. We could not do what we are doing without you! Every donation brings us closer to achieving our ambitious goals!
We have been presented with an urgent new opportunity and we need your help more than ever.
We are looking to raise £4000 to sponsor two Health Care Professionals to attend the residential international programme at Hospice Africa Uganda (HAU). This includes flights, accommodation, food, and course fees.
The new program starts on Monday, 8th July!!
Attending this 3-week placement in Uganda at the centre of excellence will provide the candidates with practical experience and further education. Just imagine the difference this will make to the palliative care patients. A new team, a new beginning!
Here’s what your support has helped us achieve so far:
👏 Hospital Partnership: We have partnered with a remote hospital in Ghana, which has a dedicated management team and clinicians eager to improve palliative care services.
👏 Training Programs: We funded 32 professionals to complete the Hospice Africa Uganda (HAU) training programme, the leading center of excellence for palliative care in Africa.
👏 Advanced Training: We sponsored 5 professionals for the Palliative Care Initiators Course, a 12-week program that equips staff to establish affordable and culturally appropriate palliative care services.
👏 Palliative Care Ambassadors: These 5 trained clinicians have become ambassadors for palliative care at Asamang Hospital.
👏 First Palliative Care Team: As a result of our efforts, Asamang Hospital now proudly has its first-ever Palliative Care Team!
But we need your support to continue this mission. The £4000 funding will ensure these professionals receive the necessary training to make a real impact in their community.
Please consider making a donation today. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a significant impact on the lives of patients and their families.
Thank you for your continued support and generosity.
Warm regards,
John Davies
