What are we doing doing?

Me and Ollie are riding 200 miles in order to raise money and awareness for cancer research. Our ride will take us from Stoke on Trent out through Llangollen towards Llanrwst and then finally towards the coast to Llandudno and we will ride up the Great Orme to mark our half way point in our journey. We will then leave Llandudno and follow the coast back towards Chester where we will finally begin to head back home.

Why am i doing this?

Cancer is a devastating disease which unfortunately will affect most people in one way or another throughout life; Wether its family, friends or yourself. Unfortunately both my Nan and Grandad were both diagnosed with cancer.My Grandad suffered with bowel cancer and my Nan suffered with breast cancer. Thanks to the wonderful developments in medicine and the amazing work of our Health service they have both been able to make a full recovery and i am thankful for all the work that the NHS staff did because if it wasn't for them i may not be lucky enough to still see them.

Not everyone is this fortunate though, i can't begin to imagine how devastating it must be for those who lose loved ones in their battle with cancer. This is what has pushed me to want to take on this challenge and try to raise money for cancer research in order to try to help peoples battle with cancer and help prevent the loss of loved ones especially those of which who are taken too soon to this terrible disease.

Why Ollie is taking on this challenge…

Unfortunately I lost my nana and grandad to cancer midway through my life, similarly to many people who lose a loved one it can be some of the most painful times. Through the hard work and dedication from cancer research hopefully more people can be cured. I encourage you all to donate, as even the smallest amounts can have such vast impacts on family’s who have to suffer. I will be doing this for the 2 people I miss the most nana and grandad barber, you were truly special x
