Story
As a longtime Bay Cove employee, I can attest to the incredible work our homelessness team does every day on the street and in our shelters. They show up every day no matter what; even a pandemic can't stop them.
This fundraiser makes sure that we have enough basic survival/winter warmth gear to last the winter (and mercurial spring weather, so far, fall has been kind). This work to distribute basic survival gear builds trust in Bay Cove's services, and people are then likely to ask for the kind of help that leads to permanent housing. This is what will end homelessness.
On October 10, World Homeless Day, Bay Cove Human Services launched its Give Warmth—Give Hope (GWGH) campaign. As temperatures drop, the demand for warm winter essentials such as boots, hats, gloves, and scarves becomes critical.
The GWGH campaign will provide over 2,000 items to over 600 people experiencing homelessness. These items are not just comforts but lifelines for those struggling to survive the cold months ahead.
Bay Cove provides compassionate support through our emergency shelters, warming centers, and outreach programs. Our dedication to helping people facing homelessness never wavers, but winter intensifies the need for assistance, and we can’t do it alone.
On behalf of the more than 25,000 people Bay Cove serves each year, thank you.
